Agra ophthalmologist Dr. Anu Jain, had been unable to lose weight since her pregnancy four years ago. The mother of two tried gymnastics and even consulted a nutritionist, but was unable to lose weight despite her best efforts.
It was then that her friend introduced her to HealthifyMe; Anu joined HealthifyMe soon after in September 2015.
‘I wanted something I could follow for a lifetime’
“Sixty-two kilos might not seem like a lot, but at 1.50m, my weight should be 55kg,” says Anu.
Aside from weight loss, another reason to join HealthifyMe was a desire to switch to a healthier lifestyle. Her vocation as a doctor had wreaked complete havoc on her daily routine.
“I wanted something that would help me fix my lifestyle that I could follow for a lifetime,” she says.
Motivated and dedicated ‘Anu even ran a marathon’
Anu was placed in the care of transformation and rehabilitation coach Roshini Gilbert and nutritionist Nishita Kaushik.
“As Anu has a medical background, she already had a good idea of what is healthy and what is not. But she was not able to follow him because of her profession. Nothing was on time. Her lifestyle was out of control,” says Nishita.
As Roshini put Anu through cardio and strength exercises, Nishita advised her to increase her fiber and protein intake and decrease her carbohydrate intake. There was no drastic change in her diet, but there was a reordering of her lifestyle. This includes things like small, frequent meals, eating on time, eating two fruits a day, including salads with every meal, and decreasing your cereal intake.
“The reason Anu was able to successfully lose weight was because of her motivation and dedication. She even ran a marathon. She was also very active in the WhatsApp group,” says Nishita.
A regular routine now keeps her moving
Today, Anu folhave a regular routine. Your day starts at 5:15 am. She’s at the gym at 5:45, working out until 7:00. So she takes her two children to school, has a breakfast of fruit, Kerala and boiled egg whites, and is at the hospital at 9:15.
A mid-morning snack at 11:30 am consists of almonds and buttermilk. Before, it was customary to skip lunch or eat late – around 4:30 pm – but now she insists on having lunch at 1:15 pm. It consists of a salad, a chapattihalf bowl of dal and half a bowl of curd.
At 4:30 pm, she eats a small meal consisting of toasted grams or cucumber and green tea. dinner is usually chapattivegetables and salad.
‘Even doctors can benefit from HealthifyMe’
HealthifyMe helped Anu get fitter and look younger. There was even a moment during the show where she lost too much weight – she reached 52 kg – and decided to put it back on when it started showing on her face.

“For example, I didn’t know that cardio is only effective when it’s done for at least 25 to 30 minutes,” she says.
Anu is now enjoying the compliments that often come his way.
